TWD Vanilla Ice Cream Tart
Jessica of Domestic Deep Thought of the Day is the host of this weeks Tuesdays with Dorie and her pick was Coffee Ice Cream Tart. I'm not a big fan of coffee ice cream so I went with vanilla ice cream. Kinda of plain and safe I know, but boy was it good. The tart crust is made with almonds and brown sugar and the combination with the melted chocolate was yummy. I did add a tablespoon of kahlua to kick it up just a bit. I will definitely be making this again, it will be great for summer. Thanks Jessica.

TWD All-American All-Delicious Apple Pie
There are few things better than good, old fashioned apple pie. It was one of the first things that I tried to make when I was learning to cook. Back then I turned to the red and black plaid Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. Surprisingly, the recipe I found there is very much the same as Dorie's. It makes a delicious pie that is really hard to improve on. I used a mixture of Gala and Jonagold apples and substituted flour for the tapioca. The super buttery Good for Almost Anything Pie Crust made this pie taste extra special.
My family gobbled this pie up so quickly that I barely got to take a picture. They asked why I hadn't made two. Thanks to Emily of Sandmuffin for this great pick.

Banana Cream Pie
I served this pie for lunch on Sunday and everyone liked it. I thought that it tasted better the next day after it had chilled overnight but it was good both ways. While I liked this pie I don't think that it will replace banana pudding or butterscotch pie for me. Thanks to Amy of Sing for Your Supper for choosing this recipe.
