This weeks Tuesdays with Dorie selection was
Tiramisu Cake and it was
chosen by Megan of
My Baking Adventures. I love
tiramisu and I was anxious to see how using cake in place of ladyfingers worked. I thought that the cake worked beautifully. It was light and tasty and it soaked in the espresso syrup in very well. I went a little light when brushing the espresso syrup on the cake. I didn't need to worry the cake soaked up the liquid just fine.

The frosting and filling for the cake are made with
mascarpone, sugar, whipped cream, and the
espresso syrup. I used mini chocolate chips between layers. The flavors blended very nicely and tasted very much like a regular
tiramisu. I simply dusted the top of the cake with some cocoa powder.

I served this cake for my daughters birthday along with her usual derby pie. Everyone seemed to like it. I will
definitely be making this cake again.
